How To Compare MLM Companies

The Balancing Act

To evaluate a network marketing company there are five things to take into consideration, and note that I have not numbered them – there is no number one – they are all of equal importance.

The Company

The Company is always the greatest risk factor for network marketers.

The Compensation Plan

Is it possible to make any money, even as a part-time employee? Is the company keeping too much of the profits?

The Products

Do you have confidence in the products the company is offering? Are they something you would use? Are they safe? Are they popular? How is the pricing? Are they good value for money or are they just plain cheap?

The Support Systems

Is there good support from the company and from the upline team?

Quality of the Upline Team

Will they offer support, training and encouragement? Are YOU looked upon as a valuable asset to the company or just the money you earn for them?

If you are going to join a company, it is to your advantage to research the answers to these questions. Any company that doesn’t want you to do that, or makes certain aspects of your due diligence difficult, has something to hide.

Is Leverage Important?

If you think about it, without a good balance of the above criteria, there won’t be any leverage. Leverage is critical.

You need a well-balanced mix, which will result in a business opportunity that will work.  Only then will you be able to make the money you deserve.

Often a good solid company can function well in its own home base, but the satellite offices will not perform as well. This is usually due to poor local management and can affect all aspects of the operation, including a poor delivery system, logistics resulting in disgruntled employees and a high turnover of staff.

How Can I Tell if There is a Good Balance of the Above?

Draw up a score sheet, investigate and rate each criteria, 1-5 is good.

Try not to let emotions get involved or you won’t be able to rate your decisions objectively. Even if you are desperate to get a job, getting the wrong job can be even worse!

This works well if you are comparing more than one business opportunity, it will help you make the right decision.
