Do you know What It Takes to build a Website for your Network Marketing Business?

Building a website these days is very easy, there are over 100,000,000 of them and thousands added every day, so it obviously can’t be that difficult! Since WordPress came along it’s become even easier. WordPress offers many themes that can be chosen and adapted to suit your particular business. Many are designed to accommodate affiliate marketing banners and adsense advertising, some are designed for photographers, and others for personal blogging. If you’re going to build a WordPress site make sure you do not use one on – they are purely for personal use and very limited.

It’s very cheap to start a website. All you will need is a reliable host – one that proves by its statistics that it has 99.99% uptime, there are many out there, but you will want one that has what is known as a C Panel (cPanel), the C is simply short for control, and through the control panel you will be able to access and install a WordPress site very easily. A domain name will cost you around $10 if you want a .com name – and they are the best choice. If you only intend to build one website, hosting will probably cost you under seven dollars a month, less if you pay annually.

We’re assuming that you know what your product is and you may have already signed up with the network marketing company. One of the first things you should do is a search for your product and take a good look at the other websites that have been built to promote that product. You can spy on them if you like, and by using SEO Quake’s handy toolbar, you will also the able to quickly find out what their ranking is, and how many backlinks they have. These are two very important things about websites.

It doesn’t take a lot to build a really attractive website – the most difficult aspect of any kind of network marketing is marketing the website.

If you have never built a website before, it’s vitally important that you understand what search engine optimization (SEO) means and how your website will be found when somebody punches in a search for your product. The secret to optimization, especially in articles, is keywords. Google provides an excellent tool for you to do keyword research, and as you’re only just starting out, it’s best not to pay out for any other keyword research tools just yet. There are many successful  network marketers who still only use the free Google keyword tool.

Keyword research takes a long time and requires some understanding too. Basically your keywords are going to be the hooks by which the search engines find you. You don’t want to aim at the keywords that have huge amounts of searches, you should be using less competitive keywords, which may bring fewer searches but give you a better opportunity to get found because there’s less competition.
The object of building a website is to get traffic and lots of it, although it will take a couple of months of concerted work to pull your website into a respectable position within the search engine results pages (SERPs).

So what do you need to do initially to get your website moving up in the rankings?

As soon as you start your website try to add one well optimized articles to it every day or every couple of days. Your articles should the informative and interesting and not just written for the search engines, they are going to be read by human beings after all. People who search online are usually looking for solutions to problems or information about things they want to buy so tailor your articles accordingly. Every day you should participate on relevant “Do follow” blogs. These are blogs where you can leave a link to your website. Aim to visit and leave useful and helpful comments on at least 10 different blogs every day. It doesn’t take too much time once you have identified the blogs you want to participate in. They should have active participants, stay on topic, and its best if they have a PR3 ranking or above. The higher the PR (page rank) value of your backlinks, the more credence Google will give to your website.

Make sure that you have a Gravatar, or a photograph of yourself which appears alongside the comments you leave. It’s all part of attraction marketing. When people see your face they’ll understand what you’re all about. This is part of another aspect of online marketing called “attraction marketing”.

One of the best ways to market your product will be to create videos, again showing your face and your product on videos is a part of attraction marketing. You set yourself up as an expert talking about your product and people will click on your video and possibly purchase from you as a link will go through to your website. You can also use the same video on your website. The longer you can keep a visitor occupied and on your website, again the more “points” Google will give you.

At this stage you should go ahead and join social marketing networks especially Facebook – see if there are any Facebook Groups that you can join that are relative to the product you’re selling. Whenever you go on social networking sites it is essential that you build relationships with people first, don’t just go in and start shouting about your opportunity or your product. Be sociable – that’s what “social” means.

There are many other ways to market your website and your product. At this stage do not even consider paying for advertising on Facebook or anywhere else – nobody knows who you are and it will be a waste of money.
